Diplomate, American College of Veterinary Surgeons
Chief of Staff, ProFormance Canine, Inc.

Dr. Huss is the founder and Chief of Staff of ProFormance Canine in Harvard, MA. Upon receiving his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Ohio State University in 1989, Dr. Huss was selected as a small animal intern at the California Animal Hospital in Los Angeles. He completed his small animal surgical residency at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1994. During his residency, Dr. Huss completed a Master of Science program in veterinary medicine and surgery, with an emphasis in surgery and emergency and critical care medicine. In 1996, Dr. Huss passed all of the requirements, and was accepted as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. He has professional membership with the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, American Veterinary Medical Association, Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association, Metro West Veterinary Association, Veterinary Association of the North Shore (VANS), Veterinary Emergency & Critical Care Society, Society for Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgery, Veterinary Orthopedic Society, and the International Association for the Study of Internal Fixation (AO-ASIF). Dr. Huss is past-President of VANS and was a member of the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee at Mount Ida College for several years.

Dr. Huss first started a small animal surgical practice, Veterinary Surgical Referrals (VSR), in 1995. In 2001 Dr. Huss developed, and was a founding partner of, the Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center of New England, LLC (VESCONE). When it became apparent that Dr. Huss could not bring his dream of developing a world class specialty referral center to fruition at VESCONE, he changed the name of the surgical practice to Vetcision, LLC. He sold all of his interests in VESCONE to start a full service referral center under the Vetcision name in June 2008. To push the limits of orthopedic medical care, ProFormance Canine was formed at Proformance Canine in 2012.

Dr. Huss and his wife share their home with a domestic short hair and a Maine Coon cat, a champion American Staffordshire Terrier, a Golden Retriever and a Portoguese Water Dog. The dogs are all involved in conformation and competitive performance events.
